I have been in the automotive industry for over 20 years. I started my career turning wrenches as an automotive technician, eventually working my way up into service department management, and then into dedicated fleet management. I have actual blue-collar experience. I understand severe duty cycles, technician workflows, and the real-world maintenance headaches that keep fleet managers awake at night.
Because I’ve been on the shop floor and behind the service desk, I know exactly what sounds good on paper versus what actually works in the field. I know that a fancy software dashboard is useless if it takes a revenue-generating truck out of service for two days just to install it. I know that auditing a commercial repair estimate requires a technical buffer who can catch inflated labor hours before the work is authorized.
